Dear UNT family,

The President's Lecture Series was created to connect our students and the greater UNT community with inspiring, accomplished experts and leaders from a variety of fields. We are excited this spring to welcome Bryant Terry, a James Beard Award-winning chef, food justice activist and critically acclaimed author, as our next President's Lecture Series speaker at 7 p.m. March 31 in the University Union Emerald Ballroom, Room 314. A cooking demonstration and Q&A session will accompany Chef Terry's talk, “Food Justice at the Intersection of Food, Politics, Poverty, Public Health and the Environment.”

Chef Terry's cookbook, Vegan Soul Kitchen (VSK): Fresh, Healthy, and Creative African-American Cuisine, was named one of the best vegetarian/vegan cookbooks of the last 25 years by Cooking Light Magazine, and in 2015, he was presented with the James Beard Leadership Award for his work in creating a more accessible, equitable and ethical food system in America.

The lecture series is open to all members of the UNT family — students, faculty, staff and alumni — as well as our neighbors throughout the North Texas region. Claim your free ticket online and join us March 31 to be inspired by Chef Terry!

UNT Proud,
Neal Smatresk
President
