Sept. 19, 2014
Dear UNT community,
As I announced at State of the University on Wednesday, we are planning to award merit raises in recognition of the outstanding performance of our faculty and staff members. Any merit raises awarded will go into effect Nov. 1, 2014 and will be included in paychecks beginning Dec. 1, 2014.
While this year’s pool of funds is small, it does reflect a sincere commitment by myself and the entire cabinet to support UNT’s outstanding faculty and staff members.
Members of the cabinet will not receive merit raises, and if deans, associate or assistant vice presidents, or other leaders in similar positions receive a merit raise, it will not exceed $500. This will help us ensure that most of the small pool of available funds are used to recognize the great work throughout the institution. The guidelines about awarding merit raises will be sent to departments soon.
I sincerely appreciate the commitment that each of you demonstrates in helping our students succeed.
