Merit raises to be awarded March 1, effective April 1 — An Official Notice from the President

Dear UNT faculty and staff,

Your hard work to increase student enrollment and retention during the past year has made a tremendous difference for our university. We welcomed our largest-ever freshman class, boosted enrollment to a record 39,000 students, and have almost hit our FY22 student retention goals.

To recognize and thank you for your contributions, I have authorized a 2 percent merit pool for fiscal year 2020. Merit awards will be effectiveMarch 1, 2020 which will be reflected in April 1 paychecks.

This pool will provide managers with the opportunity to recognize and reward those employees who go above and beyond to help our students thrive and university progress. Merit process timelines and instructions are available online for faculty and staff.

New this year, completion of all mandatory trainings – including Preventing Discrimination and Harassment and Computer Security Awareness – is required for merit eligibility.

Thank you for making 2019 a year of progress and for your continued commitment to helping our students become the caring, creative and innovative leaders of tomorrow.
