Bob Brown, vice president for finance and administration, has appointed Brandi Renton as assistant vice president for organizational behavior to oversee a new unit, the Office of Organizational Development, charged with facilitating change management and process improvement. Renton, who has served as the human resources director at UNT for the last seven years, will supervise the team experienced in policy, communications, training and process analysis. She also will work with the professionals in the Office of the President and Office of the Provost to ensure progress and completion of major administrative activities.
The unit’s addition comes from priorities identified in the 2016 Planning Implementation Workshop and State of the University.
“Several areas throughout UNT have sought assistance with significant organizational change,” Brown says. “This unit is designed to assist with process assessment, training, documentation and consultation. The goal is to increase the effectiveness of our change efforts and to provide mechanisms for continuous improvement.”
Renton says she is excited about her new role and the ways her team can help the rapidly growing and changing university.
“Our team will help us continue to focus on employee development, assist with building and improving processes and continue to help build consistency across the organization,” Renton says. “Our partnerships across the UNT campus are critical to our success and that of our students and this team will provide insight and guidance to leaders to enable change.”
Katy McDaniel, Human Resources manager, will fill the UNT System position of interim UNT campus human resources director until the search for a permanent director is completed.
Recent changes that affect the Division of Finance and Administration include three more positions:
- Aaron LeMay has been appointed by the UNT System as the UNT System interim controller until a permanent replacement has been secured.
- Jennifer Stevenson has been appointed by the UNT System as interim UNT associate controller until LeMay returns to his duties following his interim appointment.
Larry Worthy has joined UNT as the special assistant to the vice president of finance and administration. He has been charged with assisting all UNT departments with asset management and protection. He will concentrate on the areas of cash and accounts receivable management. Worthy is the former head of the UNT System’s Internal Audit Integrity Unit.
