The annual North Texas Fair and Rodeo is partnering with the University of North Texas to host UNT Day Friday, Aug. 23.
The University Union information desk will have 1,000 discounted admission coupons to the North Texas Fair and Rodeo to give away during First Flight week, Aug. 17-23. Without the $5 coupon, tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for children 7 to 12. Admission is free for attendees 6 and younger. To apply your coupon, you must purchase tickets at the gate.
The evening’s fun starts when the gates open at 6 p.m. The first 500 people to arrive will receive a free UNT T-shirt. UNT employees will staff all three fair entrances with giveaways until supplies run out.
Bull riding at the Miller Lite Bull Blow Out starts at 7:30 p.m. Attendees will have a chance to win free merchandise throughout the show.
Fairgoers also can enjoy carnival rides, livestock shows, art contests and music. Sonny Burgess, Jolie Holliday and Brian Houser take the Bud Lite Stage at 6 p.m.; Grammy-winning Texas performer Pat Green headlines from 9:30 to 11 p.m. on the Budweiser Stage; and Mike and the Moonpies will wrap up the evening with a performance beginning at 11 p.m. on the Bud Lite Stage. All concerts are included in the fair’s general admission cost.
