Dear faculty and staff,

Since his arrival in February, Shannon Goodman, our founding vice president for enrollment, has hit the ground running to build a strong division that will develop and implement effective strategic enrollment and recruitment strategies. The division is charged with helping the university achieve sustainable enrollment growth and improve the quality and diversity of our student population.

Building this division means bringing together departments that most directly impact student enrollment to best help us recruit and retain high-quality students. The Division of Enrollment now includes the following units:

  • Undergraduate Admissions
  • Student Financial Aid and Scholarships
  • Registrar's Office
  • Transfer Articulation

The addition of the Registrar's Office and Office of Transfer Articulation to the enrollment division is an important first step in the evolution of creating an effective enrollment management structure.

Enrolling and retaining a high-quality, diverse student body is critical to the overall success of our university, which is why creating a Division of Enrollment was a top priority in our 2014-15 Action Plan. We needed a unified organization that is dedicated solely to helping identify and effectively recruiting and retaining UNT students through sound strategies and solid customer relationships.

I'm excited about the progress we're already seeing from this new division and look forward to what's to come.

UNT Proud,

Neal Smatresk

President
