SECC giving campaign runs through Oct. 31 – A Message from the President

Oct. 6, 2020

Dear UNT faculty and staff,

Our university community has kicked off a month of giving to UNT’s annual State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC), which gives faculty and staff an opportunity to support a variety of local, state, national and international charities throughout the month of October.

This has been a tough year and many of these charities are on the frontlines of helping in times such as these. You can visit secc.unt.edu to find the list of organizations and more details about how to donate. The causes supported by these groups include everything from environmental issues and disaster relief to literacy promotion and educational attainment, which is dear to our hearts.

Like many things at UNT right now, the SECC campaign will look a little different this year.

Departments are welcome to show their creativity in finding fun ways to virtually host some of the fundraising activities that have been popular and community-building in past years. If you are hosting a virtual fundraising event, you can request to have it added to the SECC events page.

To help get everyone excited about participating in the campaign this year, my office has donated two tickets for a Dallas Cowboys game later this fall. Learn how you can enter the drawing. This campaign is our opportunity to show UNT’s caring spirit and make an impact on the world far beyond our own campus.

UNT proud,
Neal Smatresk
UNT President
