I want to remind you that UNT is co-hosting the US-China Smart Education Conference March 18-20 on our campus. A top feature of the conference is the Ed Tech Ascend pitch competition where creative individuals and teams can present their educational technology pitches and compete for $25,000 in start-up or ramp-up funding. Winners also may have the opportunity to work with academic or corporate partners to get their product to market.
The Ed Tech Ascend pitch competition is a tremendous opportunity for all faculty, staff and students who are innovating in smart learning and education technology. I have heard many of you discuss how you are transforming education and want you to use this opportunity to compete for funding that will help you realize your dreams. The Ed Tech Ascend entry is free and remains open through Feb. 25.
We are co-hosting this fourth annual conference with Beijing Normal University and will bring together technology experts, industry leaders, developers and educators from all backgrounds to discuss the role artificial intelligence and emerging technologies play in the evolution of smart learning. Edmodo, the conference's title sponsor, is a subsidiary of NetDragon, one of UNT's partners in innovation and mobile application development. I look forward to having the NetDragon team on campus once again.
