Dear UNT community,
The more I meet with students, the more I hear how important our faculty and staff are to their success. All the things you do to teach, support and guide our students really matters to them, and it makes a difference.
Sometimes, just being there to show your support speaks volumes — especially for students who are new at UNT. New Student Convocation is the perfect opportunity for all of us to show our incoming students the strength of our caring community. I hope you will join me for New Student Convocation at 5 p.m. on Aug. 21 at the UNT Coliseum. It’s a great opportunity to see the fresh faces of our newest Eagles and to welcome them.
With 50 percent of our freshmen opting into the Eagle Express Tuition Plan, many of our students are committed to graduating in four years. There are many ways you can help them, from providing personal guidance and mentoring to pointing them to helpful resources like our Succeed at UNT campaign. This campaign encapsulates what students can do to stay on track and get the most out of their college education. It gives students access to much of what they need to successfully navigate their college careers.
When students talk about how much they love and appreciate UNT, it’s because of each of you. Thank you for all that you do to give them the best college experience and education.
By the way, I’m now on Twitter! Follow me @UNTPrez and watch for #UNTproud.
