Dear staff and faculty,
As we strive to maintain a supportive environment for employees, we have been addressing career progression and compensation issues for both staff and faculty.
Last month, we launched the Job Evaluation and Grading Project for staff members to ensure that we have job titles and expectations that are more reflective of the work each staff job requires. The project also will help us improve our structures for staff job progression and market competitive compensation. As a reminder, no staff members will lose their jobs or have their incomes lowered as a result of the project.
When we first told you about the project, we promised to hold town hall meetings to provide updates, answer your questions and discuss your concerns. These meetings have been set:
- 3 to 4 p.m. Aug. 3 at Discovery Park, room B155
- 3 to 4 p.m. Aug. 4 at the Business Leadership Building, room 180
- 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Aug. 5 in the Business Leadership Building, room 180
Bob Brown, vice president for finance and administration, and I will discuss the project and answer questions that many staff members are asking:
- What is this project all about?
- Why are we doing it?
- How are we doing it?
The project will help UNT to become a workplace that is even more attractive and competitive in the North Texas region. I look forward to telling you about it and I hope you’ll join us for one of the sessions.
