Unplug electronics during Thanksgiving break to help UNT be green

Nov. 11, 2019

Dear UNT faculty and staff,

Environmentally responsible actions are important to UNT. That's why we're asking you to partner with us this Thanksgiving Break on a simple initiative that will help the university conserve energy and energy resources.

If you will be out of town for more than two days, we ask that you unplug electronics, as they use electricity even when they are turned off; TVs, computers, electronics chargers, coffee makers and video game consoles are common "energy vampires."

The simple act of unplugging electronic devices takes minutes, is fiscally responsible, helps conserve energy and has a positive impact on our environment.
