In the interest of promoting the health, well-being and safety of students, faculty, staff and campus visitors, UNT's Smoke-Free Campus policy has been amended to prohibit the use of all tobacco products — including electronic cigarettes and smokeless tobacco products — on the UNT campus, effective Jan. 1, 2020.
The policy applies to all students, faculty, staff, visitors, contractors and sub-contractors while on property owned or leased by UNT at all times.
University property is all indoor and outdoor areas and facilities owned, leased or controlled by the university, including residence halls, academic and auxiliary buildings, athletic complexes and facilities, sidewalks, green spaces, parking lots and roadways, parking facilities, bus depots and all university-owned vehicles.
