Dear faculty and staff,
Transportation Services, in consultation with the new Transportation Advisory Committee and university leaders, is taking steps to address four main strategic goals to help with the UNT community’s parking and transportation experiences.
These goals are:
- Improve communications
- Reduce citations
- Incorporate technology to help with the management of parking information
- Provide additional parking options to the UNT community
To meet these goals, UNT Transportation Services has made some changes to parking services for the 2016-17 school year.
Many of these changes affect student parking. An overview of the changes to student parking can be found here.
The most noticeable change for faculty and staff will be parking lot and permit signage. Signs and permits for “D” lots will change to “F/S” to clearly designate that the lot is for faculty and staff use.
This year, Transportation Services also is urging all faculty and staff to buy their parking permits online, starting Aug. 12, Friday.
Those who buy “A-Reserved” permits or “F/S” permits can buy their permits using the UNT Parking Portal. Permit prices for this year are $577 for an “A-Reserved” permit and $225 for an “F/S” permit. Permits will be valid through summer 2017.
Visitors can park in the Union Garage or use the UNT Parking Portal to create a guest login to buy and print a visitor’s parking pass, which can be used in the Eagle lots or any other designated visitor lot. Lot 25, at the corner of Avenue C and Highland Street near Crumley Hall, will be converted to a visitor lot to help the visitors’ parking experience.
