gREEN pRIDE

Dear UNT community,

Since becoming president of UNT, green has become a wardrobe staple. Whether I wear a green tie or a green shirt, I try to let my pride shine brightly whenever I can as a member of the Mean Green Nation.

I love it when our UNT family wears green and UNT-branded clothing. It's a real joy to see all the creative ways students, faculty, staff and alumni express the UNT identity in what they wear and what they carry.

This is especially important on Fridays when it's Mean Green Pride Day. The more people who are in green — especially green that sports the UNT logo — the better. Wearing green on Fridays will get you discounts at local participating retailers such as 10 percent off any regular priced logo item in the Barnes & Noble bookstore here on campus. We also have a weekly social media contest, where you post your greened-out selfies with #MeanGreenFriday to have a chance to win a UNT spirit pack. To learn more, visit the Mean Green Pride website.

Fridays aren't the only day we want you to wear green, however. It's great to see packed stands and a sea of green at our games so come dressed in your best Mean Green apparel and cheer for the Mean Green.

Go Mean Green!

UNT proud,

Neal Smatresk

President
