Move-In Day is expanding to include both Saturday, Aug. 19, and Sunday, Aug. 20 this year when UNT will officially welcome new and returning students and help them to settle into their residence halls.
You can help students and their families have a positive experience during this busy event by being friendly and sharing any information they may need when you encounter them on campus or around Denton. If you see any visitors on campus who have questions or need directions, please help them or direct them to someone who can.
Encourage new students to download UNT’s mobile app for resources to campus way-finding and other useful information. Search for UNT Mobile and download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
The expansion of the Move-In Weekend is designed to reduce traffic by spreading arrival times across two days instead of one. Students moving into the residence halls have been given a specific date and time to arrive and check in at their assigned locations.
Faculty and staff who come to campus on these days should be aware that traffic will be heavier than usual, especially around the perimeter of campus where most of UNT’s residence halls are located.
Parking and Transportation Services will not ticket vehicles with a 2016-17 or 2017-18 parking permit during Move-In Weekend regardless of where they are parked. Parking in a handicapped parking space without a handicapped permit or parking in a fire lane will still result in parking citations or removal of the vehicle.
