Dear UNT community,
What is creativity?
It seems like a simple question, but for the UNT community, there are no simple answers. Only endless possibilities as you'll see in our new video.
That's what a UNT education is all about: Exploring possibilities. Pushing the boundaries of thought and imagination. Unleashing your creativity and intellect.
From our start in 1890, we've been a place where "students become independent thinkers and investigators," as noted in our first course catalog.
We're celebrating that pioneering spirit this milestone year. Join us for our 125th anniversary celebrations throughout the year, starting with Founder's Week -- Sept. 11-20. On Sept. 16 -- our founding day -- we will formally kick off our 125th anniversary celebrations. Highlights include:
- President's State of the University address at 2 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Murchison Performing Arts Center
- Mean Green football season opener tailgate and game Sept. 12 against SMU at Ford Stadium in Dallas
- Family Weekend Sept. 18-20
- First home football game at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 19 when the Mean Green takes on Rice University
You can learn more about these celebrations and our history at 125.unt.edu.
One of the 125th anniversary highlights will be Homecoming Week Oct. 5-10. This year's theme -- Forever Mean Green: A Journey Through Time -- is a nod to our history and traditions. You don't have to wait until then to show your pride. Every Friday is Mean Green Pride Day so wear your green and be loud and proud!
There has never been a better time to be a part of UNT. With 125 years of opportunity, excellence and traditions as our foundation, we're building a bright future -- and nothing is out of reach.
