Every day UNT staff members make valuable contributions to UNT through their interactions with current and prospective students and their families, campus visitors, university partners and their colleagues. Staff give back to UNT in many meaningful ways and the Staff Senate is asking staff to consider sharing their time and talents through service in the senate.
The UNT Staff Senate represents university staff members on staff-related issues. The Staff Senate seeks to advance the university’s mission and strategic plans, paying particular attention to issues and interests that impact UNT’s more than 2,300 staff members.
The call for nominations to serve on the Staff Senate is now open. Any benefits-eligible UNT staff member who has been employed at UNT for one year is eligible to be nominated. The nomination form and supervisor approval form are available on the Staff Senate website. More information about the Staff Senate’s bylaws and procedures can be found on the website as well.
Staff may nominate themselves. Nominations are due by the end of business on April 14 (Friday).
To be eligible for an open seat, a staff member must be in the division that the seat represents. They do not, however, have to be in the same department as the open seat. Currently, there are open seats in all divisions.
Questions about the election or which division a particular staff member is in should be submitted to Lexi Peak at Alexandra.Peak@unt.edu.
