The President’s EDGE offers Spanish, English as a second language to staff

The President’s EDGE program is open to all staff members and helps them earn a GED, learn English as a second language or complete basic Spanish courses. The program also can help with cultural assimilation and American citizenship. The program is available to the UNT community regardless of educational background or language abilities.

Upcoming President’s EDGE classes include:

  • Introductory Spanish classes for staff (Spanish for Staff Level 1) from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, beginning Feb. 7, through March 7 in Willis Library, Room 443.
  • Intermediate Spanish classes for staff (Spanish for Staff Level 2) from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning March 21 through April 18 in Willis Library, Room 443.

Space is limited—register through the UNT learning portal today.

Staff learning Spanish can practice their conversation skills during the Spanish Conversation Hour at The President’s EDGE Mondays, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the NT Lofts, Room 110. The practice session is great for those enrolled in the Spanish courses and miss a class or anyone who wants to work on their Spanish language skills.

The President’s EDGE is also working with College of Information—Linguistics in offering English as a Second Language classes for UNT staff.

Two class times are available. Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. or Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon. Contact the President’s EDGE office for more information at 940-565-4320.

Visit the President’s EDGE during our spring open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, April 12, to learn more about the program.
