Student Activities seeks advisors for student organizations

Aug. 31, 2016

UNT Student Activities is seeking full-time faculty and staff members to serve as advisors for student organizations.

Serving as an advisor provides faculty and staff with personal and professional development and mentoring experience. Faculty and staff volunteers also help to make a difference in students' academic careers while contributing to the university's student retention efforts.

Volunteers are asked about their interests, hobbies and what types of student organizations they would be interested in advising. The information is used to pair them with a student organization.

Faculty and staff members also are encouraged to meet with student leaders of the organizations they have been paired with to determine if they would like to serve as the organization's advisor.

For more information on how to become a student organization advisor, contact the coordinator for student organizations, Kally Jorgensen, at
