Thinking about getting in shape? Here's your chance to try out the Pohl Recreation Center before you buy a membership during Faculty/Staff Free Week.

This year, faculty and staff have two free weeks to explore Rec Center programs, which are designed to support the recreation and fitness needs of the UNT community. From Aug. 28 through Sept. 10, any faculty or staff member can visit the Rec Center for free with their UNT ID.

Activities and amenities offered in UNT's state-of-the-art, 138,000-square-foot Pohl Recreation Center include:

  • 1/8 mile walking/jogging track

  • Indoor basketball and soccer courts

  • 200 pieces of weight room equipment, including over 100 pieces of cardio (stepmills, treadmills, ellipticals, rowers, and bikes)

  • Leisure and lap pools, including a hot tub

  • Indoor climbing wall with Family Climb events every weekend

  • Over 50 group exercise classes a week, including free classes over the lunch hour

  • Locker rooms with free day use lockers and showers

During the first week of school (Aug. 28-Sep. 3), all group exercise and climbing classes are free. The Rec Center also offers a variety of one-on-one instruction classes for you personally, ranging from private swim lessons to personal training sessions.
