The Division of Institutional Equity and Diversity will host its 17th Annual Equity and Diversity Conference on Feb. 23 (Thursday) in the University Union. Themed “Social Justice: A Movement Not a Moment,” this year’s keynote speaker is noted scholar, professor, TV host and author Dr. Melissa Harris Perry. The 2017 conference marks a number of exciting changes including:
- Free attendance for all UNT students, faculty, and staff
- Conference workshop “tracks” (resulting from data collected by the Multicultural Center and the Pride Alliance needs assessment) including bias awareness, discrimination policies and practices, gender and gender identity, race and ethnicity, and social justice education.
- Use of new software for streamlined registration and check-in
The Division has extended its deadline to submit a workshop proposal for the conference, which is open both to the UNT and external community, to Jan. 20. For more information about the conference, to register, and to submit a proposal, visit the Equity and Diversity conference page.
