Topics include special event planning, budgeting, marketing, arrangements, international considerations and ethics.</course-description-1><course-title-2>Entertainment and Experiences in Hospitality and Events (3 hrs)</course-title-2><course-description-2>This course provides an overview of the function, design and structure of entertainment and related experiences for the event and hospitality industries. Topics include structure of the live entertainment industry, the promotion of entertainment-based events, and overall analysis of the impact events have on a property and how entertainment projects fit within the event and hospitality industries.</course-description-2><course-title-3>Strategic Event Design (3 hrs)</course-title-3><course-description-3>This course serves as a senior-level simulated learning project designed to provide students with an opportunity to integrate knowledge, concepts and capacities from different parts of their learning experiences.</course-description-3><course-title-4>Introduction to International Sustainable Tourism (3 hrs) </course-title-4><course-description-4>Global travel and tourism examined through the lens of sustainability and the triple bottom line the economic, socio-cultural, and environmental effects of tourism on a destination. Introduction to the different components of the travel and tourism industry with a particular focus on examples of high and low sustainability practices in each industry, using case studies from around the world as illustrations.</course-description-4><course-title-5>Modern Wedding Planning (3 hrs)</course-title-5><course-description-5/><course-title-6>Introduction to Global Event Management (3 hrs)</course-title-6><course-description-6>Introductory course which examines different types of events and the global economic impact of these events. Overview of the event management industries.
