 Dear UNT Faculty and Staff,

I'm excited we’re kicking off the Fall 2023 semester. It’s great to welcome students back to campus — check out some highlights from the first day of class! We truly are Better Together, one of our shared values.

In our newest national video, we showcase our caring and creative community that aims to make “Your Passion Our Purpose” a reality for our students. While they are with us, they’ll be challenged to think critically, meet new people, grow personally and professionally, and experience all our beautiful campus and the surrounding community offer.

My heartfelt thanks to every one of you for your extra time and patience helping our students this week. It shows our passion and dedication for our Mean Green Family to ensure they thrive at UNT — and beyond.

• The Mean Green football home opener is Sept. 2 against the California Golden Bears at DATCU Stadium, our first in the American Athletic Conference.
• The fall President’s Staff Sack Lunch is Sept. 7.
• Homecoming Week is Oct. 23-28. Come out and celebrate all week long and cheer on Mean Green football at the Homecoming game against MemphisOct. 28.
• Fall 2023 Commencement, scheduled for Dec. 15-17, will wrap up the semester.
• Monthly meetings for Faculty Senate (second Wednesday of the month) and Staff Senate (second Tuesday of the month). 

As the school year starts, make sure to take time for yourself. A new program, Wellness Champions, kicks off this fall, so stay tuned for more information on our Wellness website.
