Dear UNT Students,

Welcome to UNT and the Fall 2023 semester! Many of our faculty and staff have been hard at work preparing for your arrival, and we're so glad you're here. Check out some highlights from the first day of class! We truly are Better Together, one of our shared values.

You’ve made a great choice in UNT. We’re a caring and creative community, one that aims to make “Your Passion Our Purpose.” As our newest national ad showcases, UNT is with you every step of the way, from the moment you receive your acceptance letter to the day you cross the stage at commencement — and beyond. While you’re here, you’ll be challenged to think critically, meet new people, grow personally and professionally, and experience all our beautiful campus and the surrounding community have to offer.

At UNT, our priority is you. Not only while you’re here studying, but also as you prepare for your career. You have access to a comprehensive Career Center that includes access to hundreds of resources, including a dedicated career coach in your college. When you become an alum, you’ll join a supportive network 450,000+ strong.

UNT boasts more than 450 student organizations, so there is something for everyone. You’ll also enjoy free student tickets to Mean Green sports events, services to support your physical, mental, and financial wellbeing — and so much more. Visit calendar.unt.edu frequently so you don't miss out on the fun, enriching events happening on campus such as sports, special lectures, and concerts.

We have a lot to be proud of at UNT and one of the best ways you can show your pride is by participating in our traditions, one of which is wearing green on Fridays. Watch for events on UNT’s main social channels and in UNT Weekly for opportunities to get free Mean Green gear and share by posting photos of yourself wearing green (use the #MeanGreenPride hashtag).

This first week can feel overwhelming for everyone. We have more than 4,000 faculty and staff dedicated to your success, so make sure you reach out for help if you need it. We also have a great tool called Scrappy Says, which offers answers to the most asked questions about student records and financial services, including student accounting, financial aid, and scholarships. We’re here to support you every step of this adventure.

Have an excellent semester and Go Mean Green!

UNT Proud,
