Dear UNT Community,

As we commemorate Veterans Day, we honor the individuals who have served our country for generations — those who served out of honor, duty, and love for their country, and some who made the ultimate sacrifice. We will never forget, and as we observe Veterans Day, we recognize them as America's heroes.

At UNT, we are especially proud of the more than 3,000 veterans and their loved ones in our UNT Family. Our faculty, staff, and student veterans remind us of the duty and sacrifice of military life. I am humbled by the welcoming and supportive environment UNT has created for veterans who choose to further their education and realize their dreams of a college degree.

Our commitment to student veterans has earned us repeated recognition as a top 10 Military Friendly gold school by G.I. Jobs magazine, as a “Best for Vets” school by Military Times, and “Best of the Best” by U.S. Veterans Magazine. Much of this is thanks to our strong Student Veteran Services team, who provide vital support for some of our most well-respected and hardest-working students. As a university, it is a privilege to support our student veterans as they transition from military life to campus life — and from graduation to professional success.

To all our veterans and their families — thank you. We come together as a community and as a nation to honor you and celebrate Veterans Day.

UNT Proud,
Neal Smatresk
President
