Dear UNT Faculty and Staff,

I am extending the Mandatory Testing Program due date to allow more time for tests and proof of vaccination records to be uploaded. You now have until Monday, Sept. 20, but no additional grace period will be provided.

A high percentage of your fellow faculty, staff and students have uploaded the required information. Please join them in complying with this mandatory program. You also can opt out of testing by uploading your vaccination records if you are fully vaccinated or by providing proof of a positive COVID-19 test result within the past 90 days here. Please test as soon as possible to avoid long wait times at on-campus locations.

As a reminder, even if you have not yet received confirmation, please DO NOT upload your test results or vaccination records again.

Please consider this your final warning, as faculty and staff who fail to comply with the mandatory COVID-19 testing and reporting requirements will receive a verbal warning for noncompliance. A subsequent violation will result in a written memo placed in their personnel file, ineligibility for merit this year and more severe disciplinary action as appropriate in accordance with university policies (Faculty Misconduct and Discipline or Staff Employee Discipline and Involuntary Termination).

Faculty and staff also are asked to stay at home if they are sick and report COVID-19 symptoms and positive tests to COVID@unt.edu. Possible exposure to someone with COVID-19 also should be reported. Testing options on campus can be found here.

The Health Alerts website is UNT's source of COVID-19 safety information.

For 18 months, you have shown your care and commitment to keeping our community safe. I implore you to continue those efforts. Now is not the time to waiver in our resolve to protect ourselves and those around us. I expect each of us to continue to play our part in seeing the way out of this pandemic and mandatory testing is a vital part of our overall strategy.

Stay safe,
Neal Smatresk
UNT President
