Dear UNT community,

When we first announced our partnership with the Dallas Cowboys in 2016, I said we were excited about the educational opportunities our students would receive by interacting with the organization ranked by Forbes as the most valuable sports franchise in the world.

Since then, we have seen the Cowboys' staff work alongside our faculty and students for special class projects, serve as guest speakers, and as adjunct faculty. More than 20 UNT students have completed internships within the Cowboys' organization in the marketing, corporate partnerships, merchandising, and hospitality areas.

Today, we cleared an even bigger path for our students, announcing the creation of a 36-credit-hour professional, online M.B.A. in sport entertainment management in partnership with the Dallas Cowboys. As a Tier One research institution, UNT is home to the academic rigor and faculty expertise to reach across many facets of business, while the Dallas Cowboys' executives are the individuals responsible for moving the needle forward every day in a $5.5 billion company.

With invaluable insight from and access to industry experts, this online degree offered by the G. Brint Ryan College of Business and developed with the Division of Digital Strategy and Innovation will present an unparalleled path for students who dream of becoming leaders in business and sport entertainment. The program can be completed in 12 months for full-time students and is designed specifically for industry executives, coaches, and current or former professional athletes looking to take the next step in their career. Our first cohort will begin classes in August and registration is open now.

The establishment of this degree illustrates UNT's commitment to providing our students with innovative learning experiences not available at other institutions. We are proud to be a university that cares for our students and empowers them to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

UNT Proud,
Neal Smatresk
