Dear UNT students,
With the promise of widespread vaccinations and the positive effects of our proven COVID-19 safety measures, I am confident that our Mean Green Family can look to the Fall 2021 semester with renewed hope and optimism and begin planning a robust in-person campus experience for all of you.
Much work is underway to prepare us as we move toward a successful fall - complete with the full spectrum of in-person, on-campus classes and labs and all of the exciting and engaging campus events that I know many of you look forward to each year. We will offer the robust mix of in-person and online courses our students have traditionally enjoyed, which includes more than 1,000 online courses and 80 program options through UNT Online if you prefer to continue an online experience. I am looking forward to more fully being together again, and I encourage you to start planning now. The full schedule of summer and fall classes will be available March 15 with registration beginning March 22. As we get closer to the start of next fall, you will see our university calendar become more populated with much anticipated events and activities.
Our optimistic planning is possible because our safety measures have helped keep our campus community safe while having a positive impact on our campus operations. As we finish up the spring semester and move into the summer months, I encourage each of you to continue to do your part to keep our community as safe as possible. It is incredibly important for each of us to continue to wear a mask, stay at least 6 feet away from others, avoid crowds, and wash our hands often.
As we continue our planning, the health and safety of our community will remain our top priority. Our UNT leadership team and I remain committed to continuing to monitor the COVID-19 trends in our region and state. I am especially proud that we have been a leader in the state across higher education for keeping our community safe, while still finding ways to provide you with a high-quality education that will help you succeed long after you graduate. As we approach the fall, we will continue to keep you updated along the way.
I know I am not alone in looking forward to brighter days ahead, and I am excited for us to reclaim the full rich experience of our community and rich campus life that we've all been so dearly missing.
