Dear UNT faculty and staff,

During an unprecedented year with ever-evolving challenges, you continue to put our students first and problem solve when faced with roadblocks. While completing the standard duties associated with your roles, so many of you have accepted new tasks to ensure student success, our university's financial stability, and the health and safety of our UNT community. From implementing contact tracing and hyper-vigilant sanitization to remote learning to at-home laboratory experiments, I have been astounded, but not surprised, by the dedication and ingenuity of our UNT faculty and staff.

In appreciation of your hard work, all UNT offices will close early at noon Wednesday, Dec. 23, to begin our winter break. Instructions regarding how to record the closure hours are detailed online by Payroll Time & Labor.

I hope you are able to rest, recharge and remain safe during the break, so we can return to work Monday, Jan. 4, reinvigorated and prepared for another year of empowering students to thrive in our rapidly changing world.

UNT Proud,
Neal Smatresk
