    What: The Upshaws of County Line,an exhibition of photographs taken by Richard Orton of a family that lived in an East Texas community that was formed in the 1870s as a safe place for newly freed slaves during Reconstruction and Jim Crow Texas.

    When: July 7 (Friday) – Aug. 12 (Saturday). A reception, which will include an artist’s talk, will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 4 (Saturday).

Now a professor at the University of North Texas is working to make sure those first responders can get that vital access through an airborne communication system.
