Dear Faculty and Staff,

Our caring spirit is at the core of who we are as a Mean Green Family, and living our Shared Values is something we take pride in all year long, especially during the holiday season. We know we’re Better Together, and this year’s holiday video sweetly demonstrates just how true that is. In case you missed it at our Faculty and Staff Holiday Party this week, I encourage you to watch. It’s guaranteed to satisfy your sweet tooth and warm your heart.

As we wrap up another year, we have many successes to celebrate, such as record enrollment of nearly 47,000 students, increased career-readiness initiatives — including two new career centers made possible by generous donors, the approval of the Texas University Fund (TUF), a new stadium naming partnership with DATCU, and the start of Mean Green Sports’ first year in the American Athletic Conference — just to name a few. And we’re not stopping!

I’m excited to see what the future holds for our incredible university. It’s the dedication and hard work that you bring to work every day that encourages, inspires, and helps our students’ dreams take flight.

In this holiday season, it’s important to reflect on what we’re thankful for, and for me, I am thankful for each and every one of you — the incredible members of our UNT Family. Thank you for all you do. I wish you a delightfully sweet and relaxing holiday season. Rest, recharge, and get ready to head into a successful 2024!

UNT Proud,

Neal Smatresk
President
