Dear UNT Faculty and Staff Colleagues,

Since I arrived at UNT, I continue to be inspired by your care and positive impact for our students and our great university.

Now, as we work together to advance our mission while navigating current budget challenges, we need to consider how we might improve our operational efficiency and effectiveness. Many times, the best ideas will come from within the university, from people whose work gives them unique insights into how we might streamline processes and make better use of resources.

To facilitate your contributions to this effort, we are restarting an updated version of UNT’s TIP$ (Transforming Ideas into Profits and Savings) program. This program allows faculty and staff to share — and be rewarded for — ideas to improve efficiency and develop new revenue sources. A similar program was in place several years ago. This new version is intended to incentivize faculty and staff suggestions to improve processes, add worthwhile ventures, or support operational efficiency.

Full-time, benefits-eligible faculty and staff may receive a taxable $100 reward for each viable idea that we can implement here at UNT to reduce costs significantly or grow new revenue. See the details about the UNT TIP$ program here.

Thank you again for your continued contributions to UNT and your consideration of creative solutions to help support our success. I look forward to seeing your recommendations, and to advancing your ideas to improve the university.

Respectfully,

Harrison Keller, Ph.D.
President
