Faculty, staff, and students are often unsure of what we mean when discussing accessibility. Accessibility ensures that all individuals can access resources equitably. Accessibility is relevant to all people, not just those with disabilities.
Understanding, using, and planning for accessibility may be overwhelming yet with the right campus partners, we succeed!
Incorporating accessibility into our everyday lives is a proactive practice that ensures all resources are made available to the widest possible audience.
Accessibility is the baseline of equal service, and accommodation is the second step to take when accessibility alone isn't enough.
Accessibility is proactive, allows our entire UNT community to have equal experiences, and is the standard for our UNT community. Accommodations are supportive adaptations requested by individuals when accessibility issues arise. Everyone can benefit from accessibility. The more accessible we make our websites, campus and classrooms, the better we support our students and the broader community.
Accessibility is a shared responsibility, and we all have a role to ensure the accessibility of our resources.
