Inaugural President's Lecture Series event scheduled for Feb. 21 - A Message from the President

Feb. 6, 2019

Dear UNT family,

Creating opportunities to hear from thought-provoking experts and national leaders on a wide array of topics is one of our duties as a Tier One research university. One way we prepare the creative leaders of tomorrow is by bringing visionary and accomplished leaders to campus to share their insight and inspire the next generation.

This spring, I am excited to launch the UNT President’s Lecture Series by welcoming Thomas Zurbuchen, NASA’s associate administrator for the science mission directorate, as our inaugural speaker at 7 p.m. Feb. 21 in the Union Lyceum. At NASA, Dr. Zurbuchen is responsible for directing and overseeing the nation's space research program in Earth and space science. During his lecture, he will discuss the state of space exploration and share insight on NASA's current and future missions.

This lecture series is free and open to all — our students, faculty, staff, alumni and neighbors throughout the North Texas region. As seating is limited, please confirm your seat by claiming your free ticket online.

I look forward to sharing this fun, informative and inspiring lecture series with the community, and I hope you'll join us!

UNT Proud,
Neal Smatresk
President
