Dear UNT Community,

This week, we each have the opportunity to share our opinions in a Values Poll to help create a set of shared values that will guide how we do business going forward. I encourage each of you to participate by the deadline Friday, Nov. 4.

Your participation is important. As we identify and honor our values, we can improve how we engage and retain more students, faculty, and staff; celebrate a vibrant and supportive campus culture; and help our community build a better workforce.

Thank you to those who were able to attend the Join the Journey information sessions last week, either in person or virtually. If you were able to attend, you should have a better understanding of how and why we are building a stronger, values-based culture systemwide. If you weren't able to participate in an information session, you can learn more and watch a session from last week on the Join the Journey website.

Next week, 125 community members representing UNT and our peer institutions will come together in a 2-day workshop to define our values, define the behaviors associated with our values, and start planning the next steps to implementing our values journey.

Working together, we will become a better UNT. I appreciate what each of you does for UNT, and I look forward to where this journey takes us.

UNT Proud,
Neal Smatresk
UNT President
