This program not only benefits students, it strengthens university operations by placing talented, motivated students in key roles across campus.

How can I hire a President’s Fellow in my department?

Hiring a President’s Fellow does not require creating a new position. Instead, departments are encouraged to transition existing entry-level vacancies into program-eligible roles.

Eligible positions fall under the following classifications:

  • Operations Services Assistant (Grade 5)
  • Student Services Assistant (Grade 5)

These roles do not require a bachelor’s degree and are ideal for students nearing graduation.

What is expected of supervisors?
Supervisors play a critical role in the success of President’s Fellows.  A one-on-one lunch will explore ways to support a meaningful experience, including connecting academic goals with professional responsibilities and encouraging internship opportunities when appropriate. A coordinated evaluation procedure has also been developed as part of a performance review process.
