Emma Earhart enrolled at UNT this fall after earning her associate degree from North
Central Texas College in May — at age 15. Her mother, Kathy Earhart, attended NCTC
with her, and she didn't stop there. Both are biology majors at UNT, both are taking
the same classes this semester, and both have plans to go on to medical school. Emma,
now 16, is on track to complete her bachelor's degree at 17 and her doctorate by the
time she's 22.
The Earharts' shared dream has captured the attention of the nation. Dallas-Fort Worth media first ran their story this summer, and WFAA aired an in-depth profile earlier this month. Then the national media took notice, as well as CBS affiliates from Alaska to California to New York to Florida, and most states in between.
