Walter Itoman joined UNT Sept. 14 as the new associate vice president for budget and analytics in the Division of Finance and Administration. A licensed CPA, he comes to UNT after 10 years with the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
As a financial affairs manager at the medical school, he focused on establishing financial modeling for new business lines, improving reporting, and restructuring for efficiency and accountability.
“Walter brings an impressive set of accomplishments in helping his past employers achieve effective and efficient operations,” says Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration Bob Brown. “He has great skills in managing resources and is an important addition to the UNT family.”
Itoman has more than 20 years of experience in the finance field. After earning a B.B.A. in marketing at the University of Hawaii and an M.B.A. in accounting and finance at the University of Arizona, he worked at Union Pacific Resources in Fort Worth as a senior internal auditor.
He also served as a finance manager for Aerial Communications Inc. and U.S. Bancorp, both in Minneapolis, before returning to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Prior to joining UT-Southwestern, he was director of financial reporting and analysis for Atrium Companies Inc., a building products manufacturer in Dallas.
