Students in Dr. Jeremy Short's social entrepreneurship class in the Department of
Management are working to raise at least $10,000 through crowdfunding sites they've
developed for charities of their choice. They're helping groups such as refugees,
people with developmental disabilities, young musicians, animals, youth in foster
care and veterans' families while discovering firsthand how to put what they've learned
into practice. They had a launch party Nov. 11, with guests including President Smatresk and Scrappy, and they are already more
than halfway to their goal.
