This accreditation means we meet or exceed strict academic standards for excellence in education.

Our Business Leadership Building — which has Gold-level Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for sustainability — reflects the university’s commitment to preparing future business leaders. It contains 24 classrooms of various sizes and offices for RCOB’s faculty andstaff. Student learning is enhanced with interior and exterior spaces such as tutor rooms, team study rooms, a state-of-the-art general access computer lab, BLB Trading Room, a café and outdoor terraces.

Admission requirements

The application process consists of two steps: Applying to the University of North Texas Toulouse Graduate School and submitting additional admission materials to the G. Brint Ryan College of Business

Step 1: Apply to the University of North Texas Toulouse Graduate School

*Toulouse Graduate School completes a full evaluation of all international credentials. They also accept international credential evaluations from World Education Services (WES) and Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE). Students with official WES or ECE credential evaluations should send them directly to the Toulouse Graduate School and also submit a copy to the G. Brint Ryan College of Business, Graduate Programs Office. Consideration will be given to credential evaluations from other credential evaluation companies by request. Step 2: Submit Materials to the G. Brint Ryan College of Business (emailed to

  • Essay of unique events, life experiences, and qualifications that you feel distinguish your candidacy. Should not exceed 600 to 700 words.
  • Resume highlighting professional and academic experience.
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation either signed and on letterhead of reviewer or submitted via the recommendation form (downloadable form).
  • Submit GMAT/GRE scores if required* (Work experience will not be considered in lieu of exam scores).

Degree requirements

36 total hours, including:

  • 24 credit hours of M.B.A. core courses
  • 12 credit hours of M.B.A. concentration and supporting courses (depending on the concentration)

Prerequisites & Background Coursework

The UNT MBA programs have the following background courses:

  • Micro and Macro Economics
  • Financial Accounting
  • Business Law
  • Calculus

Students are not required to have these background courses before applying. Once admitted, our team will evaluate student’s transcripts and notify them of background content not reflected as completed courses. If required to complete content, students may do so through our third party partners, Ivy Software and/or We will provide login credentials once admitted. Students will complete the content as modules, which can be completed in about 2 to 4 hours per “course” in general. The cost ranges between $48.00 and $75.00 per module. If a student is required to take all modules, the cost will be just under $350.00. The time commitment would likely be 10 to 24 hours, depending on the student. Students have three chances to “pass” each module with roughly an 80%, and the grade is not reflected on the transcript.

Financial assistance

Many opportunities exist to aid you financially with earning your M.B.A. degree. Scholarships are offered by the department, college and university. Scholarship information is available at the College of Business scholarship page. Full- and part-time M.B.A. students also may be eligible for federal financial assistance. Our nearly 100 full-time faculty members are highly regarded for their research interests and their excellent teaching. Ninety-eight percent of the college's faculty members have doctoral degrees in their academic disciplines. Many faculty members are active professionals in the Dallas-Fort Worth business community.
