Many students are eligible to sit for the real estate licensing exam after completing only a few courses. This license is required for sales agents in Texas.
As a Real Estate major, you can pursue a concentration and certification in Residential Property Management (RPM). This concentration, which focuses on the multifamily housing industry, is available at a limited number of universities. It's been developed in consultation with the Texas Apartment Association.
In addition to being outstanding teachers, our faculty members are certified brokers, appraisers, right-of-way agents and consultants who remain current on trends and applications through research. They've written numerous articles and books in their areas of expertise and incorporate their experiences and research into the course curriculum.
The UNT Real Estate Club provides unique perspectives on current events, networking opportunities and frequent field trips with industry partners. Other networking opportunities are available through the UNT Real Estate Alumni Association.
Scholarships sponsored by the department are available to help you pursue your education. Students also have earned scholarships from organizations such as the International Council of Shopping Centers Foundation and the Commercial Real Estate Women Network, as well as from generous and successful alumni.
