You can earn three credit hours through a merchandising study tour. Class destinations include New York City and Dallas, where you tour showrooms, manufacturing facilities, retail establishments, museums and significant historical structures. Study abroad opportunities to Hong Kong/China, London and France can provide international exposure to the fashion industry.

The Merchandising program is recognized as one of the most comprehensive in the nation. The Department of Merchandising and Digital Retailing is a recipient of the American Textile Manufacturers Institute Award for Excellence for innovative and exemplary programs and research.
As a Merchandising major, you will take courses in textiles, trend analysis, product development, fashion theory, consumer studies, brand development, visual merchandising, promotion, global issues and merchandising math. Students also need to complete a required internship that prepares them to further their career within the field upon graduation.
In addition, you must complete 18 credit hours of business courses, including courses in accounting, management and marketing.
