Undergraduate students are represented by the Student Government Association (SGA). It is made up of three branches of government and grants funding for undergraduate student conferences or programming and hosts university wide events.
The Graduate Student Council (GSC) advocates, connects and empowers graduate students. GSC is comprised of an Executive Branch, Judicial Branch and Senate, and the bodies work to improve the graduate student experience.
The University Program Council (UPC) is the student-run programming board devoted to planning and implementing educational, social, cultural and entertaining events for the student body.
UNT employs more than 5,000 students through hourly jobs, work-study positions and Eagle Internships. Working at UNT is ideal for students due to its convenient location, flexible scheduling, social networking and the opportunity to develop relevant, transferable skills.
UNT’s Counseling Center offers professional counseling, career counseling, consultation, mental health screenings, educational programs and self-help resources as well as a referral services. Group and individual sessions are available, as well as couples counseling.
The UNT Career Center helps students identify and achieve individual goals for career success. Students can receive career and internship advising, and gain assistance with resumes, interview prep and more.
Career Coaches are highly-trained professionals available to help students select a major, writing a resume, conducting job searches, improving interview skills and much more. Career Coaches are assigned to students by major, classification and location.
LinkedIn Learning is a free resource with more than 10,000 courses for all UNT students, faculty and staff free of charge. You’ll find courses for all interests.
Through Coursera, the leading online learning platform, people with a UNT email address can access massive open online courses (MOOCs) for free. These non-credit courses can be a great opportunity for professional and personal development.
The Distinguished Lecture Series brings noted speakers to campus to provide the UNT community with different perspectives and topics of thought. From business leaders and scientists to political figures and celebrities, each event is unique and designed to inform and entertain.

The Faculty Senate acts as the voice of the faculty, representing its interests to UNT leadership and community stakeholders. It serves as a liaison between faculty and administration and works to solve challenging problems.
The Staff Senate fosters communication within the campus community and informs the administration on items of staff interest.

The UNT Retiree Association (UNTRA) acts as a link between retirees and the continued growth of UNT. It offers unique educational opportunities, retiree benefits and representation in university forums.
Mediation is a process that allows faculty, staff or administrators at odds to work together and find mutually agreed upon solutions to job-related interpersonal disputes.
UNT System’s Organizational Development and Engagement team has numerous live trainings and a large library of pre-recorded webinars available for viewing. Professional development training is available for individual contributors and supervisors.
Five breastfeeding rooms are designated in UNT’s busiest buildings — University Union Room 431, Discovery Park B145, Willis Library 155C, Gateway Center C058A and General Academic Building 542A as well as other campus locations. Rooms have a bariatric chair, side table and lamp, an outlet for a breast pump, a changing table and a mounted hand sanitizer dispenser.
